After five years of writing about real estate dramas, Theresa Agovino began covering scripted dramasâand musicalsâas part of becoming the arts, culture and nonprofits reporter in the fall of 2012. She covers visual and performing arts, which means following news and trends in the worlds of theater, music, dance, museum, auctions and galleries. She also writes about nonprofits outside the art world, including universities and social service agencies such as Citymeals-on-Wheels. Prior to coming to Crainâs, Theresa was the pharmaceutical and health care business reporter at the Associated Press for six years. Before that, she spent six years as a Budapest-based freelance journalist covering social, economic and business issues in Eastern Europe and the Balkans for publications such as The Boston Globe, Newsday, Pensions & Investments and Newsweek. The native New Yorker, who graduated from Syracuse University, started her business journalism career as an editorial assistant at Crainâs.
