In his seven years at WIRED, Jason Tanz has edited stories about everything from Jeff Bezos to bank heists, hackers to high-speed rail. He has written feature articles about the sharing economy, Microsoftâs Kinect controller, Internet celebrities, videogame auteurs, and filmmaker Charlie Kaufman. As executive editor, Tanzâs responsibilities include editorial oversight of the magazineâs print and tablet editions, as well as working with the web team on new editorial initiatives. Tanz has worked at Fortune and SmartMoney, and his writing has appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, Spin, and several other publications. He is the author of Other Peopleâs Property: A Shadow History of Hip-Hop in White America, and he was awarded a Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship from the University of Michigan in 2004.
