Richard Chang is an arts and entertainment writer and critic for the Orange County Register, where he has worked since February 2000. He specializes in visual art, but has also written about music, movies, TV, film festivals and nonprofit arts organizations. He contributes to ARTnews, OC Register and OC Register Metro magazines. Richard teaches an arts and entertainment journalism workshop at UCLA, and has a strong interest in education and diversity issues. He has served on the Registerâs diversity committee, pushing for fair and sensitive coverage of various communities and for diversity in hiring. He has also served as a board member of the Asian American Journalists Association, Los Angeles chapter for 12 years, holding positions as president, national advisory board representative, and vice president (print) of the AAJA-L.A. chapter. Richard graduated from Brown University with honors in English and American literature. He received a masterâs degree in journalism from U.C. Berkeley.
