Randy Lee Loftis has been The Dallas Morning News environmental writer since he joined the newspaper in 1989. He worked previously for The Miami Herald and a small newspaper in South Carolina. In his 30-year career, he has won numerous national awards, including the Edward J. Meeman Award for environmental reporting and the Worth Bingham Prize for investigative reporting. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and is completing a master's in journalism at the University of North Texas.
