Karen Lindell has been a reporter and editor for more than 15 years, most recently as the assistant entertainment editor and a multimedia journalist at the Ventura County Star in Southern California, where she writes about the arts, culture, lifestyle and general news topics. She is doing freelance writing and editing while earning her master's degree in journalism at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Before coming to The Star, she worked for six years as the regional editor and a writer for L.A. Parent, Orange County Parenting, San Diego Parent and Arizona Parenting magazines. She's also written freelance articles for the Los Angeles Times, and is the assignment editor for @U2.com, an award-winning news and fan site for the band U2.
