I'm a freelance writer and editor. I write about science, technology, and their intersection with culture for publications like New Scientist and WIRED; am a Contributing Editor at gizmodo.com; and am Digital Editor of Oxford Today. I teach a short course in Science and Engineering in Society at Brasenose, Christ Church, Pembroke and Somerville Colleges, all of which are part of the University of Oxford. Until December 2010, I worked full-time in the editorial team at New Scientist. I hold a distinction-level MSc in Science Communication from Imperial, a DPhil in Medical Engineering and a first class MEng in Engineering Science, both from the University of Oxford.
